How much does an e-Car weigh?

As the Fiat Panda electric demonstrates, e-Cars typically aren't lighter than conventional vehicles.

In fact, the Panda electric weighs exactly the same as its petroleum-powered counterpart: 1,000 kg. Similarly, the Mercedes A Series e-Cell weighs as much as the conventional A Series model.
